MYSTERY JAM MONDAY PART 157

Welcome to Part 157 of Phish.net's Mystery Jam Monday! Here's the deal: be the first person to identify the song and date of the mystery jam clip and win one MP3 download courtesy of our friends at LivePhish.com / Nugs.Net. Each person gets one guess per day, with the second “day” starting after I post the hint. A hint will be posted on Tuesday if necessary, with the answer to follow on Wednesday. Good luck.

Answer: @ucpete wins this week's MJM by IDing the 7/12/03 Maze, possibly the only one that verged into "Type II" territory. Well done, Pete.

Quick programming note: MJM Part 158 will be posted on Tuesday.

uctweezer ^ around the 13 minute mark. First time I was at the MJM show!

uctweezer I guess I should say it's the first time I got the MJM for a show I attended (there have been a few I missed that I attended, most notably the Gorge -7 @WayIFeel pointed out above).

Here's the proof:

Babyrattlesnakes Nice job @uctweezer. I knew it had an outdoor "windy" quality to it. My guess was going to be 4/26/96 Bowie.

Phish686 Dammit, didn't see the previous posts. Thought I had it.

That part of the maze and 2 different parts of the 6/17/04 Suzy jam are pretty much the same thing lol.

One day...

funkbeard Ah, a sample straight from one of my favorite moments in all of 2.0. The Gorge Maze is a monster, with Trey going full trance in his rhythm guitar world.

pistilstamen This droning type of jam could have come from any number of Summer '03 excursions. The sound indicated that it was an 'open air' venue, of which the Gorge was the most likely (IT being my second guess).

Unfortunately the competition is stiff here on MJM, and I wasn't able to beat uc(slippery)pete to the punch.

Well done, good sir.

duggy Check out the Maze from 12/31/1997 out of Tweezer -- that version pushes a bit into Type II territory as well before dissolving into Caspian ... just noting this in response to the MJM note about this '03 Maze possibly being the only one to push out there ... any others anyone can recall?

I freakin' LOVE Maze!

Nope, those are the two longest Mazes, and the Gorge '03 is the most Type II and MSG '97 is close to going Type II but not quite. Check out the Maze Jamming Chart...
